1. Washing Your Lingerie

Hand Wash Only

To extend the life of your lingerie, we recommend hand washing only. Washing machines can be harsh on delicate garments, with vigorous spinning and heat exposure putting strain on fabrics and structure. Even when using a laundry bag on a delicate cycle, machine washing can lead to fabric deterioration, bent underwires, or wires breaking through their casing.

Do Not Dry Clean

Dry cleaning is also not advised, as this may weaken elastane and reduce its elasticity over time.

Do Not Bleach

Avoid using bleach as this can damage delicate fabrics and change the colour of your lingerie.

Do Not Tumble Dry

For best results, gently hand wash your bras in warm water using a mild detergent. After washing, reshape the garment and lay it flat to dry naturally. Avoid hanging by the straps or band, as this can cause stretching. Tumble drying should be avoided, as the heat can damage elastane, embroidery, and underwires. High temperatures may also cause underwires to break through the casing, potentially damaging both the garment and the machine.

2. Bra Rotation

We recommend that you have at least three every day bras to wear on rotation, this allows you the time to wash and dry your bras correctly, and for the delicate fabrics to recover and re-shape after use. We do not recommend wearing your bra for more than one or two days at a time, this ensures that the fabrics do not stretch too much and allows them to spring back into place. Some of our most-loved every-day styles are Fusion, Reflect and Belle, which have been carefully crafted to ensure uncompromising support and comfort.

Alongside your everyday bras, to achieve the perfect bra wardrobe, we suggest also adding a supportive strapless bra for occasion wear, and a bralette to offer complete comfort.

3. Storing Your Lingerie

Your lingerie drawer should remain organised, with all bra clasps fastened to reduce the risk of the hook and eye fastenings getting caught on delicate fabrics and causing damage. We recommend that your moulded bras are stacked so that they do not get bent out of shape. It may be tempting to invert the cups into one another to save space, however this can alter the shape completely. Lay your moulded bras flat to retain their shape.

Lingerie Care FAQ's

  • We advise that you always hand wash your lingerie. This will help to preserve delicate fabrics and elastics while maintaining the garment's shape, fit, and overall quality for longer.
  • Bras don't need to be washed after every wear. As a general guide we recommend washing your bra after every other wear. Rotating between several bras and allowing each one to dry naturally will aid in extending the lifespan of your bras.
  • Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a gentle detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Fasten the bra hooks to prevent snagging and gently rub any areas that need extra attention before rinsing thoroughly with clean water. Avoid wringing or twisting the bra as this can damage the fabric and underwires. Instead, gently press out excess water, reshape and leave to air dry.
  • Hand washing is always the recommended method as it is the gentlest way to care for delicate lingerie. Even using a laundry bag on a delicate cycle can lead to fabric deterioration, bent underwires or wires breaking through their casing.
  • The best detergent for lingerie is a gentle detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric conditioner, as they can weaken delicate materials and reduce the lifespan of your lingerie. Using a delicate detergent will help to keep your lingerie supportive for longer.
  • Tumble drying should be avoided, as the heat can damage delicate fabrics, elastane and underwires. High temperatures can cause underwires to distort or break through the casing, potentially damaging both the garment and the tumble dryer. For the best results, reshape your lingerie after hand washing and allow it to air dry naturally.
  • Your lingerie drawer should be kept organised, with all bra clasps fastened to help prevent damage. We recommend storing moulded bras flat and stacking them neatly to help maintain the shape of the cups. While inverting one cup into the other may seem like a convenient way to save space, this can place unnecessary pressure on the moulding and permanently alter the shape of the bra.
